This month, I had the pleasure of photographing another fellow photographer and friend, Nkima De Faria. Nkima is a Wedding and Family Photographer based in London. She has a gorgeous family of 4, with her husband Ricky, her oldest Octavia and the latest addition, baby Nova.
We decided to shoot this Autumn family session in Battersea Park, which was still plentiful with orange and yellow leaves.
We started to shoot around the lake, where swans came to greet us, quickly followed by greedy pigeons. Ricky and Octavia shared their cookies with them. I used the lake as a background and love the look of the boat hut with its triangular shape, giving us Canada vibes.
We shot on a Wednesday after the rush hour, which allows us to shoot in the main alley with the pretty bandstand in the background, with only a small amount of passersby and a few dogs.
During the session, I captured Octavia and Ricky’s special connection, with some tickling, laughing, dancing, swooping, and some crying after falling down on her pretty dress. Nothing too dramatic, we switched the dress back to front and we were going again!
We finished the session with baby Nova sleeping in Nkima’s arms, in front of the beautiful yellow trees and spectacular Peace Pagoda.
