This month, I had the pleasure of photographing the large family of my friend and fellow photographer Kingsley Ohuka from Cr8 Moments. With 5 kids and 2 adults, this family of 7 was the biggest I have ever photographed. And how fun it was!
We decided to have our photo session in Hampstead Heath in the Pergola, but the historical area was closed for ongoing work on the structure so we used the park around that area which was beautiful with all its Autumn colours.
It was very cold that day, but we warmed up quickly with games and photo prompts. I found a pretty pathway with a big tree and colourful leaves on the floor.
It can be nerve-racking to photograph another photographer’s family but it proved to be pretty easy once I started to work. As a fellow photographer, Kingsley and his wife Keisha were perfect helpers and took some videos of me while directing the girls, which is so helpful as I use this content for my Reels on Instagram.
Working with a larger family can be challenging as you have more faces to keep in focus and you have to make sure everyone is well positioned, but I tackled these difficulties thanks to my experience and the fact that most of the children were older than my usual clients (3 were over 6 years old) and more prone to listen to directions and games.
Take a look below at my favourite shots from this adorable family session.
If you also have a large family, don’t hesitate to contact me on the link below and it will be a pleasure to be part of your story.
