A beautiful winter Family Photoshoot in Notting Hill

In January, I met with the beautiful Yolanda Kalo and her family for a winter family photoshoot in Notting Hill, West London.

As the park’s trees were too bare in winter, we decided to shoot in the city. We used St Luke’s Mews for the first part of our shoot to create this cosy, but city vibe.

I started the session by photographing Yolanda and creating some beautiful portraits and styled posing, while her partner Marlone went to the bakery to get us some coffee and croissants.

He had the brilliant idea to ask them if he could borrow plates and coffee mugs. We used the table outside a house to stylise a breakfast and warmly thanked its occupants. After a quick morning nap, baby Electra was ready and joined her parents for breakfast, so she got to try a croissant for the first time in her life! Miam!

After this first part of the session, we warmed up in the car and headed to All Saints Church for our final shots. We spotted some pretty steps on the way, and I captured these gorgeous snuggling shots.

For the final shots, I used the church as a background with the pigeon minding their own life. I had to photoshop a lot of bird poo, but it was worth it!

I hope you enjoyed this winter family photoshoot in Notting Hill. Winter shoots are great, it might be cold but we get beautiful morning light and less crowd in the background, so we can be creative and make the best of usually popular locations.

Next week, I will blog about a central London Family Photoshoot done with Big Ben, and at a Thames beach. Stay tuned! Book your session by clicking on the link below.
