After 2 years in Australia and 6 years of living in London, I’ve finally settled back into life by the sea in Maragte! My partner and I fell in love with this town and found our ideal house. A dream come true after almost a decade of city life. My journey here has been filled with incredible experiences and a lot of hard work, but as time went on, the fast pace of city living started to feel less and less like me.
London has its beauty – the diversity, endless opportunities, vibrant arts scene, and all the wonderful people I met. But there’s a certain rush that comes with city life, an energy that never really pauses. Over time, I found myself craving something calmer, something that felt more meaningful. The constant bustle, the traffic, and the never-ending sense of urgency started to wear on me. I felt a deep need to slow down, to breathe a little more easily, and to find a new rhythm.
Moving to Margate was more than just a change of location – it was a conscious step toward a lifestyle that felt true to who I am now. I’m incredibly excited to embrace this new chapter, one that feels closer to nature and offers a sense of space. Now, with the sea just outside my door, I can look forward to cold swims, paddleboarding, beach picnics, and walks with friends. There’s something grounding about being near the sea that I’ve missed, a simplicity that feels good for the soul.
This new chapter also comes with some exciting changes for us as a couple. My partner has taken a brave leap, leaving his job to start his own business. Together, we’re building a life that fits our vision, one where we can create our own pace, save up for the future, and eventually start a family. For now, we’re working hard on our goals – saving, fixing up our new home, travelling when we can, and getting a new car. Each step brings us closer to the life we’ve been dreaming of.
To everyone who has been following my journey, thank you for your support and encouragement. It means more than I can say and has kept me motivated, even during challenging times. If you’d like to support me further, I’d love it if you could share and engage with my future posts – your encouragement truly makes a difference. You can follow me on my Instagram here.

P.S. – While I may be a seaside girl now, I’ll still be travelling to London, Essex, and beyond for work, so I’m never too far away!
