Baby And Mama Photography in Margate Home Studio
Last June I captured a tender Baby And Mama Photography session in my Margate home studio. One of my maternity clients returned with her newborn baby girl (you can read about their session here), and it felt so special to document this next chapter for her.
A Robe With Meaning
For the occasion, she brought along a robe from one of my favourite designers, Kahani London. She told me she bought it with the idea of passing it down to her daughter one day as a sentimental keepsake. As someone who collects gold jewellery with the hope of passing it on to my future children, I found that gesture incredibly moving. It was a beautiful reminder of how Baby And Mama Photography can hold meaning beyond the images themselves.
Natural Portraits in the Studio Bedroom
Capturing a Breastfeeding Moment
From there, we photographed something very tender: a quiet breastfeeding moment between mother and daughter. She wanted to immortalise this precious stage, and including it added such depth to the gallery. For me, it’s these real, raw connections that make Baby And Mama Photography so powerful.
Bath Portraits With Mum
For the second part of the session, we moved into my bathroom for some baby-in-the-bath portraits with mum. These have quickly become some of my favourite things to shoot lately. Maybe it’s because, between maternity and newborn, I feel like this is the season of life I’m moving toward myself. I’m hoping that next year I’ll have my own baby – so perhaps that’s why these sessions feel extra close to my heart.
A Full Gallery to Treasure
This little girl was so chilled throughout that I ended up with a huge gallery. Mum loved the photos so much she upgraded to the full collection. Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. Baby And Mama Photography isn’t just about taking pictures. It’s about telling the story of love, transition, and connection.
