If you’re after an iconic symbol of London for your family portrait; Big Ben is the star of the show. You can also do a little detour to the London Eye which is only 5 minutes away.

2. St Dustan in the East

If you’re looking for something majestic that doesn’t scream London, these church ruins are the perfect backdrop for you. Located in the heart of London, this location can get busy in summer so I recommend visiting during the week in the early morning in the first opening hour, and you’ll likely have the space just for yourself.

3. The Pergola Hampstead Heath

If you don’t mind travelling up to north London, this is my favourite backdrop for family and maternity photos. The Pergola offers stunning architecture with the right amount of green space. This spot can be popular so it’s best if you get there early as well

4. Notting Hill and Portobello Road, West London

After the success of the Notting Hill movie with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, this is a classic London location. With its colourful houses and charming streets and known for its vibrant atmosphere, this spot can get busy so plan some patience and get up super early! Make it a whole day and plan a lovely breakfast along Portobello Road after the session for a fun family day out.
